Telangana completes 71.14% digitisation of electoral forms ahead of deadline

With just a day left for the August 10 deadline, Telangana has completed the digitisation of 71.14% of enumeration forms as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Out of the 3.38 crore Enumeration Forms (EFs distributed across the state, 2,64,30,484 forms were digitised by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, according to the State’s Chief Electoral Officer.

Enumeration Phase Nears Completion

The house-to-house enumeration phase, which began on June 25, 2026, saw its deadline extended twice before finally concluding on August 10. The process involved distributing forms to all 3,36,26,448 registered voters in Telangana to ensure an updated and accurate electoral roll. The digitisation progress marks a significant milestone in the revision process, which is crucial for the upcoming elections.

Key Dates in the Electoral Roll Revision

The draft electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on August 17, kicking off a month-long period for filing claims and objections, which will last until September 16. This will be followed by a notice phase for addressing these claims and objections, running from August 17 to October 15. The final electoral roll is set to be published on October 19, as per the revised timeline for SIR-2026.

The Special Intensive Revision is a critical exercise to ensure the accuracy and inclusivity of the electoral rolls ahead of upcoming elections. By digitising the majority of enumeration forms, Telangana has taken a significant step toward streamlining the process and reducing errors.
