Tecno Launches Spark 50s 5G in India, Unveils Spark 50C

Tecno has introduced the Spark 50s 5G smartphone in India, adding a new model with a 6,500 mAh battery, a 120Hz display and storage expansion of up to 2TB. The smartphone will be available through Amazon and offline retail stores starting October 20, 2026.

Alongside the Spark 50s, Tecno has also unveiled the Spark 50C as a new 4G smartphone in the Spark 50 lineup. Tecno’s wider Spark 50 series includes the Spark 50 4G, Spark 50 5G and Spark 50 Pro.

Spark 50s gets 5G hardware and Android 16

The Spark 50s is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6400 processor and is offered with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Its storage can be expanded by up to 2TB through a microSD card.

The phone runs HiOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box. Tecno has not provided details about the smartphone’s software-support policy.

The Spark 50s has a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate and a centered punch-hole cutout for the front camera. Notebookcheck described the device as having a flat rear panel and a horizontal, pill-shaped camera island that gives it a similar appearance to Google’s latest-generation Pixel 11 smartphone.

The comparison is limited to the design, however, because the two smartphones have different camera arrangements. While the Pixel 11 is described as having a triple rear-camera setup, the Spark 50s has a single 50MP rear camera paired with an LED flash. The Tecno phone has an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Notebookcheck listed the Pixel 11 at $899 on Amazon in its comparison of the two designs. The Spark 50s is positioned at a substantially different price point, starting at ₹19,999 for its base memory configuration.

Battery, charging and connectivity features

A 6,500 mAh battery powers the Spark 50s and supports 45W wired fast charging. The phone also supports reverse wired charging and bypass charging.

The smartphone includes a dedicated microSD card slot and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. It also carries an IP64 Pro rating and MIL-STD-810H certification.

For wireless connectivity, the device supports 4x4 MIMO antenna technology, GPS, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.3. Tecno has also included all-scenario noise cancellation among the phone’s listed features.

One of the more unusual features is called No Network Communication. Tecno says the feature allows users to make calls and send messages without cellular coverage or Wi-Fi connectivity within a distance of up to 1.5 km.

The Spark 50s also includes UPS 3.0 technology, which Tecno says enables up to 2x faster UPI payments. The listed features therefore cover battery sharing, charging control, network-free communication and payment-related performance in addition to the phone’s core hardware.

Spark 50s price and availability

The Spark 50s is available in Breeze Blue and Burgundy Red. Tecno is offering two memory configurations: 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, and 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage.

The 6GB/128GB version is priced at INR19,999, while the 8GB/128GB version costs INR22,999. Notebookcheck gives the same prices as ₹19,999 and ₹22,999, describing the two variants as the base 6GB + 128GB model and the 8GB + 128GB model.

The phone will go on sale in India through Amazon.in and offline retail stores starting October 20. Notebookcheck specifies the availability date as October 20, 2026, through Amazon and offline retail stores.

Spark 50C focuses on 4G features

The Spark 50C is a 4G smartphone powered by the Helio G81 chipset and paired with 4GB of RAM. It comes with up to 256GB of storage and runs Android 16.

Like the Spark 50s, the Spark 50C has a 6.78-inch HD+ LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display can be operated with wet or oily hands.

The Spark 50C has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera. It is powered by a 5,200 mAh battery and supports 15W fast charging.

Other features include dual stereo speakers, IP68 and IP69 ratings, AI call noise cancellation and an IR blaster. The higher protection ratings listed for the Spark 50C distinguish its feature set from the IP64 Pro rating listed for the Spark 50s.

The Spark 50C also supports FreeLink 2.0, which allows users to communicate through calls and text messages without a network within a distance of up to 1.5 km. The feature is described separately from the Spark 50s’ No Network Communication function, although both are specified as supporting calls and messages without network connectivity over the same distance.

Tecno will offer the Spark 50C in Burgundy Red, Forge Orange, Basalt Titanium and Eclipse Black. Its three memory options are 4GB/64GB, 4GB/128GB and 4GB/256GB. Tecno has not yet revealed the Spark 50C’s pricing or availability details.
