Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Extends Wishes on International Day of Girl Child

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay extended wishes on Sunday on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, which is being observed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to celebrate girl children and uphold their rights.

Vijay highlights rights and opportunities

In a post on X, Mr. Vijay described the importance of girl children and their place in families and society.

“Girl children are the most beautiful poems in this world. Their innocent smiles bring joy to families, and their playful spirit adds to the beauty of nature. When a girl child is born, love, compassion, and strength are born with her.”

Mr. Vijay said that ensuring the well-being and rights of every girl child was a duty and responsibility.

“It is our duty and responsibility to ensure every girl child has a healthy life, quality education, a safe environment, equal rights, and complete freedom,” he said.

The post also called for collective support for girls’ aspirations and progress.

“Let us all pledge to give wings to their dreams, support their progress, and build an equal society free from discrimination,” Mr. Vijay said.

The wishes placed emphasis on health, education, safety, equal rights and freedom as key conditions for the progress of every girl child.
