RSS leaders call for systemic reforms to address youth concerns over NEET examination

RSS leaders have called for systemic reforms to address youth anxieties over issues including the NEET examination, arguing that such concerns demand understanding and collaborative action rather than protest alone.

Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of a three-day All India Coordination Meeting in Gudilova on Friday, RSS Sah Sarkaryavah C.R. Mukunda said the recent Jantar Mantar protest should not be viewed solely through the lens of corruption. "Wherever there are shortcomings in the system, it is necessary to correct them through awareness in society, along with efforts by the government," he stated.

Government and society must work together

Mukunda emphasised that NEET and similar systemic problems generate genuine worries among young people about their futures. "Solutions will not emerge merely through protest or disruption," he said, adding that the Centre, state governments and society must work together to improve the system through a positive and constructive approach.

The comments came as Mukunda and Akhila Bharata Prachara Pramukh Sunil Ambekar addressed the media on the final day of the Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak held at the Vijnana Vihara Residential School campus. The meeting brought together 326 delegates, including 49 women, representing 32 Sangh-inspired organisations working across various fields.

Demographics, drugs and youth engagement

Participants held serious discussions on demographic change and imbalance, examining the challenges posed by ageing populations and declining fertility rates globally and in India. "Changes taking place in the population ratios of different regions and communities and their social impact were discussed, along with measures to maintain balance and harmony in society," Mukunda said.

The meeting expressed serious concern over the increasing reach of narcotics among youth, emphasising that the problem requires participation from the entire society, not just government or police intervention.

Mukunda stressed the need to engage directly with young people rather than merely holding dialogues with them. "It is necessary to engage with them directly, understand their feelings and concerns, and through dialogue develop a sense of affinity towards the country, culture and social values," he explained.

Delegates also held detailed discussions on Artificial Intelligence, considering both its positive possibilities and associated precautions from an Indian perspective and social context. The meeting emphasised viewing technology through the lens of societal benefit while creating awareness about potential adverse effects.
