Reliance AGM 2026: Jio IPO, AI Ventures, and Energy Projects Take Center Stage

Reliance Industries, led by Mukesh Ambani, is set to hold its 49th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on June 19. The event, a key date for shareholders, will begin at 2 PM and will be accessible online. Major announcements are expected around Reliance Jio’s IPO, artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives, and energy projects.

Reliance AGMs have historically served as a platform for unveiling the company’s strategic goals and providing updates on its performance. This year’s meeting comes at a pivotal moment, with one of its subsidiaries preparing for what could be India’s largest-ever stock market debut. Meanwhile, the company’s retail segment continues to grow, and its oil business remains a strong contributor to revenues.

Jio IPO: India’s Biggest Listing in the Making

Reliance Jio Platforms, Reliance’s AI-to-telecom arm, is gearing up for an initial public offering (IPO) that could raise up to $4 billion, according to a Reuters report. The final valuation is yet to be determined, but investment bank Jefferies estimated Jio’s worth at $180 billion in November. Reliance Industries holds a 67% stake in Jio, while Meta Platforms and Google’s parent company Alphabet own 9.9% and 7.73%, respectively.

AI Expansion: Partnership with Meta

Reliance has recently deepened its collaboration with Meta Platforms to establish a 168-megawatt AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. This facility, which Meta will lease with an option to expand, will be its first AI-enabled data center in India. The initiative aligns with Meta’s growing focus on India, one of its largest markets, and its need for advanced AI infrastructure to support its services and future capabilities.

Retail and Energy Projects in Focus

Reliance Retail, led by Executive Director Isha Ambani, will also be in the spotlight. Investors are keen to hear the company’s vision for the future after it reported revenue and net profit growth in the March quarter.

On the energy front, updates are anticipated on the electrolyser giga factory, which is projected to become operational by the end of 2026. This facility is expected to enable cost-competitive green hydrogen production on a global scale. Additionally, Reliance is developing one of the world’s largest single-site solar projects across 550,000 acres in Kutch, Gujarat.

Other Key Announcements

The AGM will also include a resolution to appoint Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, and Anant Ambani, who serves on multiple group company boards, as directors on Reliance Industries’ board. A dividend of ₹6 per equity share will be declared.

Recap of 2025 AGM

At last year’s AGM, Mukesh Ambani announced that Reliance Jio had surpassed 500 million customers and was targeting an IPO by the first half of 2026. The company also unveiled its AI-focused subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence, and announced partnerships with Google to integrate its AI technologies with Reliance’s infrastructure.

As the AGM approaches, all eyes are on Reliance’s roadmap for Jio’s IPO, its growing AI ventures, and its ambitious energy projects, which could shape the company’s future trajectory.
