Railway Recruitment Board releases Group D answer key for 52 lakh candidates

The Railway Recruitment Board has made the provisional answer key and response sheets available for download on its official portal rrb.digialm.com, allowing candidates who sat for the Computer-Based Test under CEN 09/2025 to verify their responses and calculate estimated scores.

The answer key was released in September 2026, following the CBT examination that took place between 3rd August and 25th August 2026. The test was administered in three daily shifts at centres nationwide, drawing more than 52 lakh candidates.

How to access the answer key

Candidates need their registration number and either date of birth or password to access the document. The process begins by visiting rrb.digialm.com or the relevant regional RRB website, then clicking the "RRB Group D Answer Key 2026 (CEN 09/2025)" link on the homepage. After entering login credentials on the redirected page, candidates can view and download both the answer key and response sheet PDF for future reference.

What the documents contain

The response sheet displays each candidate's marked answers alongside the question paper they attempted, while the answer key provides question-wise correct answers according to the official key. The response sheet also shows marks awarded or deducted for each question, enabling candidates to cross-verify their answers question-by-question and identify potential discrepancies.

Calculating probable scores

The examination applies negative marking of ⅓ mark for each incorrect answer. Candidates can calculate their estimated score using the formula: (Total Correct Answers × 1), (Total Incorrect Answers × ⅓). As an illustration, a candidate who attempts 90 questions with 80 correct and 10 incorrect responses would score 80, (10 × ⅓) = 80, 3.33 = 76.67 marks.

Objection mechanism

Candidates who believe the provisional key contains errors may challenge specific answers during the objection window. The process requires clicking the "Raise Objection" link beside the answer key, selecting the question number to challenge, and uploading supporting documents or evidence if needed. Each objection costs ₹50 per question, payable through online modes, and must be submitted before the deadline.

The answer key serves as a crucial interim step before the official result declaration, giving candidates advance insight into their performance.
