Kick partners with Prodigy GTA roleplay ahead of GTA 6 launch

Kick, the livestreaming platform, has entered the GTA roleplay market through a partnership with Prodigy, positioning itself to capture interest ahead of the highly anticipated GTA 6 release scheduled for November 19.

The collaboration introduces a direct live integration between Kick and Prodigy, along with a Multi-View system that will enable viewers to follow different characters, groups, and events simultaneously within Prodigy's roleplaying world. Kick's event page has described Prodigy servers as being "only on Kick," signaling an exclusive arrangement.

Platform Expansion Strategy

The partnership comes as Kick has been working to expand its esports base, building on its recent collaboration with Riot Games. Gaming remains central to Kick's identity, with GTA RP playing a particularly prominent role in its Grand Theft Auto category. The platform has already made it easier for GTA RP streamers to obtain verification by fast-tracking their applications.

Kick already maintains a popular GTA V category where Prodigy features frequently, with some livestreams attracting thousands of views. The roleplaying project operates four servers across North America, Europe, and Brazil.

Competitive Positioning

While Prodigy is smaller compared to competitors such as NoPixel V, which receives official support from Rockstar Games, the Kick partnership aims to create a supportive environment for the project. Rockstar has previously acquired Cfx.re and currently supports NoPixel V by making the project accessible through the Rockstar Games Launcher, underscoring the growing importance of GTA RP. Twitch has also shown similar interest in the space recently.

The timing of Kick's move appears strategic. With GTA 6 being described as the most anticipated game of all time, the platform appears to be positioning itself to capitalize on renewed interest in the franchise. GTA RP maintains a major creator ecosystem that can help communities develop viewership before the new title launches.

Kick's investment in GTA RP content is particularly significant given that several Prodigy creators already maintain a following on the platform and produce GTA RP content. The partnership represents a calculated effort to build a larger GTA community ahead of what is expected to be unprecedented demand when Rockstar's sequel arrives.

Platform Growth Context

The move comes during a period of rapid expansion for Kick. According to Stream Hatchet's 2025 Live Streaming Trends Report, Kick recorded 4.5 billion hours watched in 2025, representing a 131% year-over-year increase, the fastest growth among major platforms. This growth secured approximately one-eighth of the total live streaming market, placing it fourth globally behind YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok Live.

Streams Charts noted that in Q2 2025, Kick surpassed the "1 billion Hours Watched" threshold, generating over 1.1 billion hours watched, up 28.1% from Q1 2025, and joining the industry's "Big Four".
