Kannur School Assault: Plus One Student Attacked, Six Seniors Suspended

A Plus One student at PRM Higher Secondary School in Kolavallur, Kannur, was allegedly assaulted by a group of senior students, leaving him with injuries requiring medical attention. Six Plus Two students have been suspended in connection with the incident, which reportedly occurred on the school campus during lunch hours.

Attack Allegedly Unprovoked
The victim, who sustained a head injury requiring stitches and injuries to his leg, stated that the assault happened when he visited the school canteen around noon. He alleged that the seniors attacked him without any prior dispute or provocation. According to the student, the group had earlier threatened to harm him if they found him alone.

Allegations of Intimidation
The student further claimed that the seniors targeted him for walking "with his chest out" on campus, suggesting an attempt to intimidate juniors. This alleged comment preceded the physical assault, during which he says he was struck on the head with a stone.

Police and School Response
Following a complaint filed by the victim's family, the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter. Meanwhile, the school management suspended the six accused students and is probing whether additional individuals were involved. Authorities are also considering further disciplinary measures as the inquiry progresses.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns about student safety and bullying in educational institutions, prompting calls for stricter measures to prevent such occurrences.
