Vellore: Tributes and Recognitions

In Vellore, Collector P.S. Leela Alex unfurled the national flag at Nethaji Stadium and reviewed the Guard of Honour. She paid tribute to the contributions of 66 freedom fighters by honouring their family members and distributed appreciation certificates to 241 government employees for their exemplary service.

Earlier in the day, Ms. Alex hoisted the tricolour atop the historic Vellore Fort and offered floral tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi statue located at the fort’s entrance. Senior officials, including District Revenue Officer D. Suresh, Superintendent of Police N.U. Sivaraman, and Vellore Mayor Sujatha Anandakumar, were present at the ceremony.

The Academy of Prison and Correctional Administration (APCA) at Thorapadi also commemorated the occasion. Director B. Pradeep and Deputy Director P. Govindarajan led the celebrations, which saw participation from professors, staff, and trainee officers.

Tiruvannamalai: Certificates for Excellence

In Tiruvannamalai district, Collector Vandana Garg hoisted the national flag and distributed merit certificates to 552 government employees and NGO representatives for their contributions. She also honoured freedom fighters and their families during the event. Superintendent of Police D. Uthayakumar and other senior officials, including District Forest Officer K. Sudhakar and District Revenue Officer A. Siva Subramanian, attended the celebrations.

Ranipet: Welfare Assistance Distributed

Ranipet Collector Priya Ravichandran marked the day by distributing government welfare assistance worth ₹1.03 crore to 26 beneficiaries. Additionally, she awarded merit certificates to 388 government staff for their commendable work. Superintendent of Police P. Sibin and other district officials were present during the ceremony.

Tirupattur: Flag Hoisting and Assistance

Tirupattur Collector G. Ravikumar hoisted the national flag at the district police parade ground in Pachal village near Jolarpet. He distributed welfare assistance to beneficiaries and awarded merit certificates to 344 government employees from various departments.

Security Measures in Place

To ensure smooth celebrations, over 2,500 police personnel were deployed across the four districts. The heightened security arrangements underscored the importance of the day and ensured public safety during the events.
