IIIT-Allahabad to Host National VLSI Design Training Programme in June

Prayagraj: The Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (IIIT-A) is set to host the 11th Summer Training Programme on VLSI Design (STPVD 2026) from June 19 to July 18. This initiative aims to provide participants with extensive hands-on experience in analog and digital integrated circuit (IC) design, laying a robust foundation in microelectronics and Very-Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) technology.

The programme, which is technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society, UP Section Chapter, will see participation from over 80 BTech and BE students hailing from various states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Telangana, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand.

Key areas of training will include analog and digital IC design, FPGA implementation using Verilog HDL, and practical sessions with industry-standard Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Cadence and Synopsys. Additionally, students will be introduced to semiconductor fabrication methodologies.

The inaugural ceremony will feature a keynote address by Satya Narayan Gupta, President of the VLSI Society of India, on the topic “VLSI Industry Insights: Trends and Opportunities.” Gupta is expected to provide valuable insights into industry expectations, emerging career opportunities, and the essential skills required for aspiring VLSI professionals in the rapidly advancing semiconductor sector.

This programme is designed to serve as a platform for students to engage with leading experts from academia and industry while gaining practical exposure to cutting-edge VLSI design tools and technologies.
