Hyderabad Police to Hire 150 Special Officers for Ex-Servicemen

The Hyderabad City Police has announced recruitment for 150 Special Police Officer (SPO) posts on a temporary basis, targeting ex-servicemen, ex-paramilitary personnel, and retired police personnel. Applications must be submitted in person by August 25, 2026, at 5 p.m. at the SPOs Office, CAR Headquarters, Petlaburj, Hyderabad.

Eligibility Criteria and Age Limits

To qualify, ex-servicemen must be below 58 years of age as of August 31, 2026. Ex-paramilitary personnel and retired police officials are eligible if they retired within the last two years, with an upper age limit of 62 years.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Selected candidates will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹26,000. However, the position does not include paid leave, and any leave taken will be unpaid.

Required Documents

Applicants are required to submit original and photocopied documents, including their discharge book, discharge certificate or retirement order, Aadhaar and PAN cards, SBI passbook, voter ID, and caste certificate. Technical trade proficiency certificates must be provided if applicable.

Special Requirements for Driver Posts

Candidates applying for driver posts must furnish a valid LMV or HMV driving licence along with three passport-size photographs.
