A woman’s house in Gwalior’s Sainik Colony in Pinto Park was allegedly attacked late at night over an old dispute. After abusing the woman and pelting her house with stones, the accused allegedly fired two rounds into the air with a katta, spreading panic in the area. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby house.

The incident took place in the Gola Ka Mandir police station area. The accused allegedly also vandalised the house of a neighbour, Prabal Pratap Singh Parihar. Before fleeing, they allegedly threatened the woman with death if she reported the matter to the police.

The complainant, Anjali Rajawat, a resident of Sainik Colony in Pinto Park, told the police that Betu Bhadauria and Arpit Rajawat reached her house along with two or three of their associates at around 10 pm on October 26. According to Anjali’s statement, the accused began abusing her as soon as they reached the door.

After hearing the noise, Anjali came outside with her grandmother. The dispute then escalated, she told the police.

Anjali alleged that Betu Bhadauria took out a katta and fired a round into the air. Arpit Rajawat then allegedly fired a second round from another katta. No one was hit by the bullets. Anjali and her grandmother were safe, after which the accused allegedly started throwing stones at the house.

The sudden firing created an atmosphere of fear in the colony. The accused allegedly continued the attack by pelting Anjali’s house with stones. They are also accused of vandalising the house of Prabal Pratap Singh Parihar, who lives in the neighbourhood.

During the incident, Anjali’s nephew Sachin and her chachiya saas, Sanju Rajawat, also reached the spot. The activities of the accused were recorded by the CCTV camera installed at a nearby house. The footage is expected to form part of the information available in connection with the incident.

Anjali informed the police about the attack and requested action against the accused. She also reported the alleged firing, stone-pelting and threat issued before the accused left the area.

On the basis of Anjali Rajawat’s complaint, Gola Ka Mandir police named Betu Bhadauria and Arpit Rajawat in the case. The police also registered a case against three other associates of the two named accused.
