In a bid to ease travel for devotees during the auspicious Sravanam month, Telugu Desam Party leader Reddeppagari Srinivasa Reddy inaugurated a free bus service to the Sri Lakshmi Palakondaraya Swamy temple on Saturday. The temple, located approximately 25 kilometres from Kadapa, has long been difficult to access due to the absence of public transport on its remote route.

“There are no bus services available on this remote route and hence this free bus service is launched, keeping in view the hordes of devotees travelling to this temple,” Mr. Reddy stated during the flagging-off ceremony.

Daily Service for Devotees

The bus will operate three times a day between the Kadapa old bus stand and the hill shrine, catering to the large number of pilgrims expected during Sravanam. This period is particularly significant for devotees, many of whom are women and senior citizens from Kadapa and surrounding villages. The free service aims to provide them with a safe and convenient mode of transportation to the temple.

Why This Matters

The Sri Lakshmi Palakondaraya Swamy temple is a revered spiritual destination, especially during Sravanam, when devotees flock to seek blessings. However, the lack of public transport has posed challenges for many, particularly those without private vehicles. By addressing this gap, the initiative is expected to significantly improve access and enhance the overall experience for pilgrims.

The service will remain operational throughout the month of Sravanam, ensuring that devotees can visit the temple with ease during this important time.
