Congress leader promises to resolve 12-year-old land dispute after student's thread-art appeal

A Congress leader in Sangareddy has promised to help resolve a 12-year-old land dispute after a student presented him with a thread-art portrait she created over 10 days to secure his attention.

Student crafts portrait to seek intervention

Bhavani, a former Model School student from Kappad village in Sangareddy district, spent 10 days creating the thread-art portrait of T. Jagga Reddy before meeting him to request his help. The student, who is pursuing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) course and has completed its first level, had been forced to pause her education for the past six months due to financial constraints.

Unresolved property dispute compounds family troubles

Her family owns 2.5 acres of land, but a dispute over the property has remained unresolved with the revenue authorities for the past 12 years. The inability to sell the property has worsened their financial difficulties, prompting Bhavani's father to suggest that she discontinue her studies.

Art project becomes appeal for help

Determined to find a way to resume her education, Bhavani, who has been interested in art since childhood, decided to prepare a special gift for the Congress leader when she met him to seek his intervention. She presented the painstakingly crafted portrait to Jagga Reddy.

On learning about the circumstances behind the gift, Jagga Reddy assured Bhavani that he would speak to Sangareddy Collector Prateek Jain and work towards resolving the land dispute. He also encouraged her not to give up her education and promised to extend support.
