Lucknow: CM Yogi has issued strict directions to officials and employees over security arrangements for the upcoming festivals, with their leaves cancelled. He said security and communal harmony must remain the top priority during Deepotsav, Diwali, Chhath and Dev Diwali.
The CM made it clear that any conspiracy to turn the festive atmosphere into disorder will not be tolerated. Action will be taken against anarchic elements under a “zero tolerance” policy.
Officials have been directed to ensure 24X7 police surveillance in markets. Adequate police forces must be deployed at major temples and sensitive religious sites.
Social media platforms will also remain under 24-hour monitoring. Strict action will be taken against those who spread rumours.
The sale of firecrackers will be allowed only at open and safe locations. The Fire Department will remain on high alert during the festivals.
The CM has also directed officials to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply, cleanliness and lighting arrangements across the state during the festive period.
He took a strict view of black marketing of fertiliser and negligence in paddy procurement. Action will be taken if farmers face any problems.
The CM also ordered exemplary action against under-weighing in ration distribution. Outsourced workers and anganwadi workers must be paid their honorarium before the festivals.
CM Yogi’s clear message was that the festivals must be celebrated with happiness and harmony, and those who play with law and order will not be spared.
