Bahraich police intensify security patrols ahead of major festivals

Police in Bahraich district conducted extensive foot marches across the region to review security arrangements ahead of upcoming festivals including Barawafat, Raksha Bandhan, and Krishna Janmashtami. Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava personally led a march through the city's commercial heart, inspecting preparedness at crowded markets and sensitive locations to ensure the celebrations pass off peacefully.

The SP walked from Ghantaghar to the Roadways depot, through Tikoni Bagh, and up to the DM intersection, accompanied by Additional SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, Circle Officer City Narayan Datt Mishra, Circle Officer Traffic Raj Singh, and local police personnel. During the march, Srivastava examined police deployment at key markets, crowded areas, and sensitive zones, directing officers to remain vigilant and conduct regular foot patrols with enhanced surveillance on anti-social elements.

Officers were instructed to maintain effective monitoring, take immediate cognizance of suspicious activities, and ensure swift action in case of any untoward incident. The SP emphasized that stringent legal action must be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order. He also issued directions to keep traffic management smooth during the festival period and appealed to citizens to celebrate in a spirit of mutual harmony, brotherhood, and peace.

In parallel efforts across the district, Additional SP Rural Durga Prasad Tiwari and all circle officers conducted similar foot marches in their respective jurisdictions. The coordinated exercise aimed at strengthening the overall security apparatus and reassuring residents ahead of the religious festivals. All gazetted officers and station house officers participated in the district-wide review, underlining the administration's commitment to maintaining public safety and communal harmony during the sensitive festival season.
