Development claims in Gram Panchayat Mitanpur have come under question after children were seen making their way to school through a muddy lane filled with dirty drain water. The condition of the village has also drawn attention to the locked Gram Secretariat/Panchayat Bhawan, where cattle were seen grazing in the premises.

The report is from Chandausi. A viral picture clearly shows the main lane of the village completely flooded with mud and dirty water from the drains. The interlocking road has sunk under the mud, leaving the route difficult to use.

Two small children can be seen walking barefoot through the muddy lane with schoolbags hanging from their shoulders. They are reportedly forced to use this route to reach school. Behind them, an elderly man is seen pushing a bicycle while trying to protect it from the mud.

Dirty drain water is flowing onto the road from both sides of the lane. The condition of the road has made the daily journey to school difficult for children.

Villagers have alleged that no development work has been carried out in the village during the tenure of Gram Pradhan Smt. Rekha Rani. They said the drains are not cleaned and there is no proper arrangement to drain water from the lanes.

According to the villagers, even light rain causes the lanes to fill with water up to the knees. The same main route is used by children going to school every day.

Villagers said children often fall while walking through the lane. Their clothes and books get damaged, while the risk of illness also remains.

They also said that the Panchayat Bhawan remains locked, leaving them without a proper place to submit their complaints. The villagers claimed that complaints had been made several times to block officials, but no action had been taken so far.

The villagers have appealed to the District Magistrate of Sambhal and the BDO to get the lanes of Gram Panchayat Mitanpur repaired. They have also demanded a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem so that small children do not have to go to school through muddy lanes.
