UP Minister Gulab Devi Inaugurates Valmiki Jayanti Procession in Chandausi

Chandausi in Sambhal district celebrated Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti with devotion and enthusiasm on Monday evening. A grand procession was taken out from the Chunni locality, while chants of “Jai Valmiki” echoed across the city. The celebrations created a devotional atmosphere in different parts of Chandausi.

The procession was inaugurated by Gulab Devi, Uttar Pradesh government Minister of State for Secondary Education. She cut the ribbon to formally begin the event. After the inauguration, Gulab Devi garlanded the portrait of Maharishi Valmiki, paid her respects and lit a ceremonial lamp.

On the occasion, the minister extended her greetings to all the residents of the city on Valmiki Jayanti. She said that Maharishi Valmiki wrote the great epic Ramayana and showed society the path of truth, knowledge, sacrifice and values. She also said that his ideals continue to inspire society.

The procession included attractive tableaux depicting Maharishi Valmiki and a tableau of the court of Lord Ram. A large number of devotees took part in the procession. Many of them danced and sang to the music of bands and a DJ. Young people were seen displaying particular enthusiasm during the event.

The procession began from Mohalla Chunni and moved through Moradabad Road, Ghantaghar Chowk, the main market and Kaithal Gate. It also passed through various localities and major roads of the city.

At several places along the route, local residents, traders and members of the community welcomed the procession with garlands and showers of flowers. The welcome added to the festive atmosphere as the procession moved through the city.

The police administration made security arrangements during the procession to maintain peace and order. After travelling through the designated areas, the procession returned to its starting point at Mohalla Chunni.

The programme concluded at the same place with the distribution of prasad. Office-bearers of the Valmiki community, councillors, BJP workers, dignitaries and a large number of local residents were present at the event.
