BSNL to Boost 4G and FTTH Services in Dharwad-Davangere Circle

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced plans to expand its 4G network and Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) services across the Dharwad Telecom Circle, aiming to enhance connectivity in both rural and urban areas. Senior General Manager Dhananjaykumar Tripathi shared these updates during a press conference in Hubballi on Saturday.

4G Rollout Targets for 2026-27

BSNL has already installed 65 new 4G saturation towers in the Hubballi Business Area (BA) during 2025-26. To further improve data speeds and network capacity, 422 base transceiver stations (BTS) were added under Phase 9.2.

For the 2026-27 fiscal year, the company plans to install 14 additional saturation sites and survey 47 villages for its 4G saturation project. It also aims to deploy 123 new BTS units, including 20 specifically for underserved areas. BSNL has set an ambitious goal of adding 40,000 new mobile connections during the year.

FTTH Services to Get a Boost

BSNL is also focusing on expanding its FTTH broadband services. By the end of 2025-26, the company had 20,844 active FTTH connections, having added 5,543 new connections during the year. For 2026-27, BSNL is targeting 14,000 new FTTH connections.

To attract more customers, BSNL is offering free Wi-Fi modems/ONTs for rural and urban broadband subscribers, with warranty support for up to two and a half years. Additionally, installation charges for new FTTH connections have been waived until September 30, 2026.

Special Offers to Attract Subscribers

As part of its Independence Day promotions, BSNL is offering SIM cards for ₹1 and ₹51 under separate schemes for new and mobile number portability (MNP) customers. The ₹1 plan includes 1 GB of daily data, unlimited voice calls, and 100 SMS messages for 24 days, while the ₹51 plan offers 2 GB of daily data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS messages for 28 days.

The company has also introduced monthly voice and data vouchers priced at ₹107, ₹147, and ₹153. A special Independence Day offer on its ₹2,399 plan provides 412 days of validity, with unlimited calls, 2 GB of daily data, and 100 SMS messages per day.

Customer Support Enhancements

To ensure better service delivery, BSNL has migrated all exchanges in the Hubballi BA to Next Generation Network technology. Exclusive teams have been formed to address technical issues promptly. Customers can now book connections and register complaints through a toll-free number (1800-4444) or WhatsApp. Doorstep assistance will also be available for new landline and broadband connections.

These initiatives underline BSNL’s commitment to improving telecom and broadband services in the Dharwad-Davangere region, catering to both urban and rural customers.
