ABVP Concludes Central Working Committee Meet, Announces Nationwide Campaigns

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) wrapped up its two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Sunday, unveiling a series of nationwide initiatives to mark significant milestones and foster patriotism. Among the key announcements was the launch of the ‘Vande Mataram @150 Years: Campus to Campus Vande Mataram’ campaign, which commemorates 150 years of the iconic patriotic song.

Celebrating Vande Mataram’s Legacy
ABVP’s national general secretary, Virendra Singh Solanki, welcomed Parliament’s recent passage of the Prevention of National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, describing it as a “historic recognition” of Vande Mataram’s importance to India’s cultural identity. The campaign will include tricolour rallies and mass singing of Vande Mataram across campuses, particularly around Independence Day.

Focus on Education, Outreach, and Organisational Growth
The meeting also addressed broader issues concerning education and organisational development. Discussions revolved around the implementation of the National Education Policy, expanding ABVP’s presence across campuses, boosting membership, and preparing for upcoming student union elections. Additionally, the organisation emphasised initiatives targeting women and tribal students, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity.

Another Patriotic Drive: ‘Ek Gaav, Ek Tiranga’
In addition to the Vande Mataram campaign, the ABVP announced the ‘Ek Gaav, Ek Tiranga’ initiative, aimed at fostering national pride at the grassroots level. This drive will encourage villages to collectively hoist the tricolour, further amplifying the spirit of Independence Day celebrations.

The ABVP’s campaigns and deliberations underscore its focus on patriotism, education, and organisational growth, aligning with its broader mission of student empowerment and national service.
