VIT vice-president Sekar Viswanathan has been honoured with the Crown Jewel of World Tamils Award at the 13th World Tamils Economic Conference and Global Economic Summit held recently in Mauritius.
Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool presented the award in the presence of G. Viswanathan, VIT founder and chancellor; Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan; and V.R.S. Sampath, president of the Madras Development Society and the World Tamils Economic Foundation, according to a press release.

Mr. Viswanathan served as chief patron and special guest of the conference, which brought together over 200 participants from more than 20 countries. The gathering included heads of State, Ministers, economic experts, and investors.
