Higher Education Minister inaugurates innovation centre at Easwari Engineering College

Higher Education Minister P. Viswanathan opened a new Innovation Centre at Easwari Engineering College in Ramapuram designed to foster innovation, research, entrepreneurship, and industry-oriented learning. The facility houses several specialised laboratories and pre-incubation centres that were also inaugurated during the event.

Alumni contribution funds construction

The SRM Easwari Innovation Centre was built with a ₹1.5 crore contribution from the SRM Easwari Alumni Association. The centre is supported by an ecosystem of centres of excellence associated with leading technology companies, according to a press release.

R. Shivakumar, Chairman of SRM Group of Institutions across Chennai, Ramapuram, and Trichy, attended the inauguration along with Geetha Shivakumar, Vice-Chairperson, S. Niranjan, Co-Chairman, and P. Deiva Sundari, Principal of Easwari Engineering College. The facility aims to provide students with industry-aligned research and entrepreneurial opportunities through its specialised infrastructure and corporate partnerships.
