Vikram Bhatt Defends Alia Bhatt Amid Trolling for 'Alpha': 'It Takes Rs 1 Lakh for Thousand Negative Comments'
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has spoken out in support of Alia Bhatt, who has faced online trolling following the release of the teaser for *Alpha*, the first female-led film in the YRF Spy Universe.
In an interview with News18, Vikram questioned the criticism directed at Alia, emphasizing that she should be encouraged for stepping into a new and challenging role. “Why is Alia Bhatt getting trolled? Poor thing. She’s attempting something different and should be appreciated for it,” he remarked.
Drawing from his own experiences, Vikram revealed that his recent film, *Haunted 3D: Echoes Of The Past*, also faced a wave of negative comments, which he believes were part of a coordinated trolling campaign.
He explained that the negativity was concentrated on one platform, raising doubts about its authenticity. “We were getting a lot of bad comments on the YouTube channel of Anand Pandit Motion Pictures but not on Saregama’s YouTube channel or Instagram. Then we found out that it was a paid campaign and the people saying bad things were bots,” Vikram shared.
The filmmaker further noted that it is possible to differentiate between organic and inorganic comments and urged people to be cautious about trusting every critical remark on social media.
