Actor-composer GV Prakash Kumar, a self-proclaimed fan of Vijay, also announced a delay for his upcoming film Immortal. Initially slated for release on July 23—the same day as Jana Nayagan—Prakash has now shifted the date to September 4. Taking to Twitter, he acknowledged Vijay’s influence, saying, “If Thalapathy comes, we have to make way, isn’t it?”

Speculation Surrounds Madhavan’s G.D.N

Though unconfirmed, the release plans for Madhavan’s biopic G.D.N, based on the life of Indian inventor GD Naidu, may also have been impacted. Originally scheduled for July 17, the film’s new release date remains undecided. Netizens have speculated that the proximity to Jana Nayagan might have influenced the delay. The film boasts a star-studded cast including Sathyaraj, Jayaram, Priyamani, and Dushara Vijayan.

Uncertainty Looms Over Other Releases

Two other Tamil films—Sathyavan Savithri and Sigma—are yet to confirm their release plans. Sathyavan Savithri, starring Keerthy Suresh and Mysskin, is currently slated for July 24, just a day after Vijay’s film hits theatres. Meanwhile, Sigma, directed by Vijay’s son Jason Sanjay and starring Sundeep Kishan, is still scheduled for July 31. Whether these films will reconsider their dates remains to be seen.
