U.P. Plans Helicopter Flower Showers for Kanwariyas Across Seven Districts

Kanwariyas in western Uttar Pradesh are set to receive a unique aerial floral welcome during the ongoing Shravan Kanwar Yatra. The State government has announced plans to shower flower petals from helicopters across seven districts on August 9 and 10, aiming to enhance the spiritual experience of devotees.

Detailed Schedule of Helicopter Flower Showers

The programme will commence on August 9, with the helicopter departing from Lucknow at 8 a.m. for Baghpat. Flower petals will be showered on devotees in Baghpat from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., followed by Saharanpur from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. In Muzaffarnagar, the floral welcome is scheduled between 1:30 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., and in Meerut from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The helicopter will log a total flying time of six hours and 10 minutes on the first day.

On August 10, the helicopter will take off from Meerut and proceed to Ghaziabad, where flower petals will be showered from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. The programme will continue in Hapur from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and conclude in Bulandshahr from 11:15 a.m. to noon. The helicopter will then return to Lucknow at 12:30 p.m., completing three hours and 45 minutes of flying time on the second day. Over the two days, the aerial campaign will span nine hours and 55 minutes.
