Suvendu Adhikari vows 'Vikshit Bharat' vision relies on 'Viksit Bengal' by 2047

Addressing the crowd after hoisting the national flag, Adhikari declared, "The Vikshit Bharat dreams of our Prime Minister by 2047 will be realised through Viksit Paschim Banga by that year." He emphasized the state's pivotal role in shaping India’s identity, citing contributions from luminaries such as Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and Rabindranath Tagore, whose works—Vande Mataram and Jana Gana Mana—continue to inspire the nation.

Adhikari also paid tribute to Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee, calling him the "architect of West Bengal" and reaffirming the state's commitment to fulfilling his vision. The occasion marked the 125th birth anniversary of Mookerjee, with a dedicated tableau rolling down Kolkata's iconic Red Road during the Independence Day parade.

The Independence Day event featured a vibrant display of West Bengal's cultural and historical heritage. After inspecting a guard of honour, Adhikari awarded medals to police officers for their exemplary service. The ceremony included the playing of Vande Mataram alongside the national anthem to commemorate the 150th year of the iconic song. Colourful tableaux, including those celebrating Mookerjee’s legacy, added to the patriotic fervour.
