South Central Railway’s Digital Life Certificate Drive to Run November 1-30

South Central Railway (SCR) has unveiled posters for its Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 5.0, which will run across its jurisdiction from November 1 to 30. The posters were unveiled by SCR Principal Financial Adviser Hema Suneetha, according to a press release issued on Wednesday (October 28, 2026).

The campaign will allow pensioners to submit their annual life certificates through a digital process without visiting pension disbursing offices. It is intended to support the seamless continuation of pension payments through Aadhaar-based biometric authentication and facial recognition technology.

Pensioners can use two mobile applications

Pensioners will be able to submit their life certificates using smartphones after installing the “Aadhaar Face RD (Early Access)” application developed by UIDAI and the “Jeevan Pramaan” application available on the Google Play Store. The process is designed to allow eligible pensioners to complete the required verification through mobile applications.

After authentication is completed, pensioners will have to enter their name as per Aadhaar, type of pension, pension payment order (PPO) number and pension account number. They will also need to provide details of the sanctioning authority and disbursing agency.

Once the required information is entered and the declaration is accepted, the application will generate a Digital Life Certificate. Following successful authentication, pensioners will receive an SMS containing a Jeevan Pramaan ID, also called a Pramaan ID, along with a link to download and access the certificate online.

Facility aimed at reducing visits to pension offices

The digital facility removes the need for pensioners to physically visit pension offices every year for verification. SCR said the facility will be particularly useful for senior citizens and people with mobility challenges. The campaign therefore combines Aadhaar-based authentication, facial recognition and smartphone-based submission to complete the life certificate process digitally.
