Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) on Tuesday announced a leadership transition in its Sales, Marketing and Digital function. Jan Bures, Executive Director - Sales, Marketing and Digital, will complete his global assignment in India and, while continuing with the Group, take on a new role at Volkswagen AG effective September 2026.

Piyush Arora takes additional charge

Following the transition, Piyush Arora, Managing Director & CEO of Skoda Auto Volkswagen India, will assume the additional responsibility of Executive Director for Sales & Marketing for the Group in India. The company said the enhanced leadership structure is aimed at strengthening strategic alignment, accelerating decision-making, and driving greater accountability across the organisation.

The company thanked Jan Bures for his contributions towards the Group's growth in India and wished him continued success in his new assignment at Volkswagen AG.

Six brands, long-term India focus

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India oversees six aspirational brands in the country — Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini and Porsche. The company said it remains committed to the long-term potential of the Indian automotive market, with a focus on sustainable growth, customer-centric innovation, and expanding its product portfolio.

Two decades in India

Headquartered in Pune, SAVWIPL began its India journey over 25 years ago at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) and today runs two manufacturing plants, including Chakan in Pune, with a combined annual capacity of 315,000 units. As an export hub under its "Made in India for India and the World" approach, the company has shipped over 725,000 vehicles to more than 40 countries and crossed 2 million locally produced vehicles in 2025.

Its locally built models — Skoda Kylaq, Kushaq, Slavia, and Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus — have together crossed 600,000 units.
