Shravasti DM Hears Women’s Grievances at Maa Pateshwari Hearing

Shravasti District Magistrate Annapurna Garg today heard the problems of several women during the ‘Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad’ public hearing programme held in her office room at the Collectorate.

The programme is being organised in the districts of Devipatan Division on the first and third Tuesdays of every month through an initiative of Durga Shakti Nagpal, Divisional Commissioner, Devipatan Division, Gonda. The programme aims to ensure that women’s grievances are taken up on priority and resolved.

Women complainants from different areas of the district met the District Magistrate and apprised her of their problems. Applications were received regarding family disputes, land disputes and requests for benefits under other government schemes.

District Magistrate Annapurna Garg heard the complaints one by one and took them seriously. She directed the concerned departmental officers to ensure their speedy and quality disposal.

Apart from the ‘Maa Pateshwari Shakti Samvad’ hearing, a total of 16 complaints were received by the District Magistrate during Janata Darshan.

The District Magistrate gave clear instructions that all complaints received during public hearings must be resolved within the prescribed time limit. She said that any negligence in addressing the problems of the general public would not be tolerated.

She also directed the officers not to limit their action to paperwork. Instead, they were asked to visit the spot and ensure an actual resolution of the complaints. The District Magistrate said this would help ensure that complainants do not have to make repeated visits to government offices for the same problem.
