Shravasti Communicable Disease Campaign From October 1, Dastak From October 12

A meeting on the communicable disease control and Dastak campaign was held in Shravasti under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Annapurna Garg at the Collectorate auditorium, in line with the instructions of the government for effective control of communicable diseases and brain fever, and for their quick and proper treatment.

During the meeting, directions were issued to the officers concerned regarding the operation of the communicable disease and Dastak campaign to be run in the coming month. The District Magistrate informed the meeting that the Communicable Disease Control Campaign will be conducted in the district from 01 to 31 October, 2026, while the Dastak campaign will run from 12 to 31 October, 2026.

District Magistrate Annapurna Garg directed the officers of the departments concerned to ensure better implementation of the activities to be carried out by their respective departments for the control of communicable diseases. She said activities related to hygiene, cleanliness and elimination of vector-borne environments should be carried out during the campaign. She also directed that people should be made aware of cleanliness and its importance in disease prevention.

Giving further instructions, the District Magistrate said that during the communicable disease control and Dastak campaign, Anganwadi workers and ASHAs will go door to door and make people aware about communicable diseases. They will also identify persons showing symptoms and digitally upload complete details, including their name, address and mobile number, on the e-Kavach portal.

Apart from this, Anganwadi workers and ASHAs will also collect information about possible tuberculosis patients. Sensitisation work will also be carried out regarding leprosy, filariasis and kala-azar. The District Magistrate directed that information and monitoring for all concerned departments should be carried out from the control room set up at the district level.

She instructed all concerned departments to prepare an action plan and take necessary action accordingly. She said effective control of communicable diseases and brain fever, along with their quick and correct treatment, is among the top priorities of the government.

The District Magistrate also directed that public awareness programmes, anti-larva activities and fogging will be carried out during the communicable disease control and Dastak campaign. In addition, through various publicity mediums, people should be informed about ways to protect themselves from mosquitoes, including installing mesh on doors and windows of homes, using mosquito nets while sleeping, and eliminating vector-borne environments.

She further directed that for prevention and control related to communicable diseases and brain fever, coordination should be established among various departments at the district, block, panchayat and village levels so that the programme can be made successful.

Chief Development Officer Shahid Ahmad, District Panchayat Raj Officer Nilesh Pratap Singh, all Block Development Officers, officers of the concerned departments and Medical Officers in charge were present on the occasion.
