A case involving an alleged fraudulent sale deed of around 11 bighas of ancestral land and the alleged misappropriation of around Rs 28 lakh has come to light in Shravasti.
A case involving an alleged fraudulent sale deed of around 11 bighas of ancestral land and the alleged misappropriation of around Rs 28 lakh has come to light in Shravasti. Rahim, a resident of Ullahwa Badalpur village under the Sirsiya police station area, has alleged that his elderly father, Idrish, was misled and persuaded into executing a sale deed for the family’s ancestral land.
Rahim has further alleged that the nearly Rs 28 lakh received from the sale of the land was also taken away. According to the allegation, the money was used to purchase expensive vehicles and motorcycles. The matter has now reached the office of the District Magistrate, where Rahim has submitted a complaint seeking action and the return of the money.
The reported dispute is from Ullahwa Badalpur village in the Sirsiya police station area of Shravasti. Rahim has alleged that around 11 bighas of ancestral land were in the name of his father, Idrish.
According to Rahim, Riaz, Akleem and Aslam, all sons of Anwar Ali and residents of Gulra Kataha, allegedly misled his elderly father and got the sale deed of the land executed in favour of another person. Rahim has claimed that he came to know about the entire process only later.
The complainant has said that around Rs 28 lakh was received from the sale of the land. However, he has alleged that the money was not used for the benefit of his family.
Rahim has alleged that after taking the money from the land sale, the accused purchased a Bolero, an i-20 car and two motorcycles. These allegations have not been confirmed, and their truth will become clear only after an investigation.
The complaint also raises another serious allegation. Rahim has claimed that the accused misled his elderly father, Idrish, and have kept him under their control.
Rahim has said that when he questioned the accused about the land and the money connected with it, and demanded his share or right, he was allegedly abused and assaulted. He has further alleged that he was threatened with death and driven away from the place.
The complainant has said that the matter is not limited to the execution of the sale deed. According to him, serious questions have also been raised over the money received from the sale of the land. He has therefore submitted a written complaint to the District Magistrate.
In his complaint, Rahim has demanded that a first information report be registered against the accused. He has also sought a fair investigation into the entire matter and the return of the money allegedly received from the sale of the land.
Several questions now remain unanswered in the case. It will have to be established whether the sale deed for Idrish’s land was executed with his free and independent consent. The investigation will also have to determine who received the money during the sale deed process and through what means the payment was made.
Another question is what happened to the nearly Rs 28 lakh allegedly received from the sale. Rahim has alleged that the money was used to buy vehicles and motorcycles, including a Bolero, an i-20 car and two motorcycles. Whether the vehicles were actually purchased with the proceeds from the land sale will also have to be established through the investigation.
At present, the allegations made by Rahim remain allegations. The facts concerning the land deed, the payment of the money, the alleged purchases and the accusations of abuse, assault and death threats will become clear only after an impartial inquiry.
The affected family has asked the District Magistrate to order a fair investigation and take action in the matter. After the complaint, it remains to be seen what steps the administration and police take, and what emerges from the inquiry into the sale deed of the land and the alleged Rs 28 lakh received from the transaction.
