Rudransh Choubey, a trainee navigating officer from Raipur, spent three months aboard a cargo ship trapped in the Strait of Hormuz during escalating tensions between Iran and the US. The ship was caught in the conflict zone while carrying out cargo operations. During this period, the crew witnessed missiles, drones, and fighter jets flying overhead, with one drone's debris even landing on their ship. Alerts often forced the 22-member crew to hide in the engine room.

Rudransh described the situation as mentally taxing, with constant vigilance required due to the threat of attacks. Communication with family was maintained through satellite systems, though technical issues sometimes caused delays.
