PM Modi Thanks Citizens for Support on New Anti-Paper Leak Bill
PM Modi expresses gratitude for public suggestions on new bill addressing paper leaks. Legislative action aims to restore trust in education.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed gratitude to citizens for their responses and positive suggestions following his midnight video announcement about a proposed law targeting paper leaks. The draft Bill, aimed at introducing stringent measures against such malpractices, was approved by the Union Cabinet on Friday, July 24, 2026, and is set to be tabled in Parliament next week.
Midnight Outreach Sparks Engagement
In a rare late-night Instagram video shared between July 23 and 24, PM Modi revealed the government's plan to address examination-related irregularities through legislative action. The Prime Minister acknowledged the overwhelming public reaction to his message in a follow-up video, saying, "The way you have responded to my video, positive suggestions given by you, thanks to everybody. Your love will continue to flow; our relations will continue with more bonding."
Context: Mounting Pressure Over Exam Irregularities
The announcement comes amidst growing unrest among students over recurring paper leaks and examination misconduct. Earlier this week, thousands of students, led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), marched to the Parliament in the 'Sansad Chalo' protest, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The demonstration highlighted widespread frustration over the government's handling of education-related issues.
By addressing the issue directly and promising legislative action, PM Modi's outreach appears to be an attempt to rebuild trust and assure the youth that their concerns are being heard. The upcoming Bill could mark a significant step in tackling systemic problems in the education sector.
