NIMS Hyderabad Daily OP Footfall Rises From 3,500 To 5,635
NIMS Hyderabad records 5,635 daily OP patients, with higher diagnostics, admissions and emergency cases as registration hours extend until 2 p.m.
NIMS in Hyderabad has recorded 5,635 outpatient patients in a single day, the highest daily OP attendance recorded at the institute in the recent period, according to hospital statistics.
Patient footfall at the hospital has risen over the past month, with more than 5,000 patients accessing various services daily. The latest figure is higher than the around 3,500 OP patients NIMS had earlier received each day.
Diagnostics and inpatient admissions also rise
The Diagnostics and Investigations Department recorded 5,088 people undergoing various investigations in a single day. On the same day, 306 patients were admitted as inpatients.
Admissions through the Emergency Department have also increased, hospital data showed. Earlier, around 50 patients were admitted through emergency services each day, while the number has now risen to around 80 to 90 patients a day.
The rise has therefore been recorded across outpatient attendance, investigations, inpatient admissions and emergency admissions. The figures indicate the scale of demand being handled by different services at NIMS, based on the statistics shared by the hospital.
Extended OP registration hours
Hospital authorities attributed the increase in footfall to the availability of advanced medical facilities, specialist doctors and tertiary healthcare services at NIMS. They said the rise in patient numbers reflects growing public confidence in the institute’s healthcare services.
NIMS has also extended its outpatient registration timings to facilitate access to treatment. Earlier, OP registration was available from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., while registration is now available until 2 p.m.
The extended registration window gives patients more time to access OP services, according to the change announced by the hospital. The hospital has also been providing diagnostic investigation reports on the same day wherever feasible.
The authorities said the faster availability of reports has improved convenience for patients and helped streamline their treatment. Together, the extended registration hours and quicker reports form part of the hospital’s efforts to facilitate access to its healthcare services as patient numbers increase.
