Mysuru Cyclists Win Seven Medals at Karnataka State Championship

Cyclists from Mysuru district delivered a stellar performance at the Karnataka State Cycling Championship held in Gadag, clinching seven medals, including three gold. The event took place on August 8 and 9, showcasing top talent from across the state.

According to the Mysuru District Cycling Association, the medals included three gold, three silver, and one bronze, earned across the Individual Time Trial (ITT) and Mass Start categories. Association Secretary Lokesh Narasimhachar praised the athletes, highlighting Vyshakh’s exceptional performance. Vyshakh secured two gold medals, one each in the ITT and Mass Start events, emerging as the standout performer for Mysuru. Dhananjay added to the district’s tally with another gold in the Mass Start event.

The silver medalists included Charith, who earned two silvers in the ITT and Mass Start events, and Naga Siri, who bagged a silver in the Mass Start category. Karen contributed to the medal count with a bronze in the Mass Start event.

The championship was a significant platform for Mysuru’s cyclists to demonstrate their prowess, and their achievements have brought pride to the district. The association expressed hope that this success would inspire more young athletes to take up cycling and compete at higher levels.
