Mother, Son Seriously Injured in Sickle Attack in Uttar Pradesh's Shravasti

A woman and her son were seriously injured after a youth allegedly attacked them with a sharp sickle in Uttar Pradesh’s Shravasti district. The incident took place after the mother and her son objected to abusive language being used in front of their house.

The case relates to Bhawalpur Naubasta village in the Bhinga Kotwali area. According to the available information, a youth was allegedly using abusive language outside the woman’s house. When the woman and her son opposed it and asked him to stop, the accused became angry and attacked them with a sharp sickle.

The woman suffered serious injuries to her face. Her son, who reached the spot to save his mother, was also targeted by the accused. He was attacked with the sickle and sustained serious injuries to his head.

After the attack, the injured mother and son were taken to the district hospital. Doctors examined them there and, considering their critical condition, referred both of them to the Bahraich Trauma Centre for further treatment.

The accused allegedly fled from the spot after carrying out the attack. Following the incident, an atmosphere of fear and panic was reported in the village.

Police have registered a case against the accused under sections including attempt to murder and other serious charges. The police have started efforts to trace and arrest him.

The incident has been reported as a serious assault involving a mother and her son, who were attacked after objecting to abusive language outside their home. The police investigation and search for the accused are currently underway.
