Minister Calls for United Effort to Achieve ‘Swarna Kadapa 2047’ Vision

Kadapa: Minister for Roads and Buildings B.C. Janardhan Reddy has urged district officials to work with dedication towards achieving the ambitious ‘Swarna Kadapa 2047’ goals, which align with the broader ‘Swarna Andhra 2047’ vision. Speaking during the Independence Day celebrations in Kadapa on Saturday, August 15, 2026, the minister emphasized the need for collective zeal to meet the district’s economic and developmental targets.

₹13.26 Lakh Crore Economic Target Set for Kadapa

Highlighting the district’s growth potential, Reddy outlined a target of ₹13.26 lakh crore for Kadapa’s economy by 2047. Achieving this would require an annual growth rate of 15% across the industrial, agricultural, and services sectors. To support this vision, he noted significant financial allocations to municipalities, Water Resources, and Tourism departments aimed at improving living standards and boosting district revenues.

‘Smart Kitchen’ Project Lauded as a National Model

The minister also spotlighted the district’s flagship ‘Smart Kitchen’ initiative, describing it as a potential model for the entire country. During the event, Reddy, accompanied by District Collector Sreedhar Cherukuri, Superintendent of Police Nachiket Vishwanath Shelke, and Joint Collector Nidhi Meena, visited various stalls showcasing development projects. He also distributed cheques totaling ₹945 crore to beneficiaries.

Recognizing Excellence in Public Service

As part of the celebrations, awards and merit certificates were presented to officers, employees, and social organizations for their outstanding contributions. The Zilla Parishad’s tableau on the ‘Smart Kitchen’ project won first prize, followed by entries from the Medical and Health Department, DRDA, and Kadapa Municipal Corporation. In the police category, the NCC, scouts and guides, and the Armed Reserve secured the top three spots.

Police Dogs Steal the Show

Adding a touch of excitement to the event, the police department’s CLUES Team showcased the bravery and skills of their trained dogs through a series of impressive exercises, drawing applause from the audience.
