Karnataka Media Academy Invites Applications for 20 Journalism Internships

Twenty candidates will be selected for a two-month internship in various media organisations under the women’s budget initiative.

The Karnataka Media Academy has invited journalism graduates and postgraduates to apply for the programme. Academy Chairperson Ayesha Khanum said the internship would provide selected candidates an opportunity to be placed in various media organisations.

Eligibility for applicants

Applicants must have an interest in journalism and proficiency in writing. They must also have completed a degree or postgraduate degree in journalism from a recognised university during the academic years 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 or 2025-26.

The eligibility requirement covers candidates who completed their journalism qualifications in any of the four academic years listed by the Academy. The selected interns will receive a stipend from the Academy during the two-month internship.

Application process and deadline

Candidates must submit their curriculum vitae, the prescribed application form and supporting documents through the Google Form provided by the Academy. The last date for submitting applications is October 23.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered, Ms. Khanum said in a press release. The final selection will be made by a committee constituted by the Academy.

The programme therefore combines eligibility based on formal journalism education with placement in media organisations and financial support through a stipend. Applicants must ensure that all required documents are submitted through the specified Google Form before the deadline.
