The BJP has named Party National General Secretary Harish Dvivedhi as in-charge of its Karnataka unit, a move apparently linked to preparations for the next Assembly elections due in 2028.
Change in Karnataka unit
Mr. Dvivedhi replaces Dr. Radhamohan Das Agarwal, who had been in-charge of the BJP’s Karnataka unit so far.
Dr. Kasam Venkanteshwaralu has been appointed co-in-charge for the State.
The appointments put a new leadership arrangement in place for the party organisation in Karnataka ahead of the next Assembly elections.

Mr. Dvivedhi had earlier worked as in-charge for Assam and is a former MP.
