Kadapa-based Shirdi Sai Electricals ships first 345 kV power tran

Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited has dispatched a 175 MVA, 345 kV extra-high voltage power transformer made at its Naini manufacturing facility in Prayagraj to the U.S., marking the Kadapa company’s first such shipment to that market.

Naini plant anchors export push

The company said the shipment was a milestone in its international business expansion and strengthened its capability to manufacture high-capacity EHV power transformers for global markets.

SSEL Chief Executive Officer Sharat Chandra Kolla said the company was targeting exports of ₹500 crore to ₹600 crore over the next 12 to 18 months from the Naini plant.

He also said SSEL was “working on diversifying and getting ourselves approved across Europe for both power and distribution transformers”.

First U.S. dispatch validates larger assignments

SSEL President Sudheer Vennam said the dispatch of the company’s first 175 MVA, 345 kV transformer to the U.S. had validated its capability to handle larger assignments.

In a release, he said significant investments were underway in grid expansion, electrification and renewable integration across the globe.

“With significant investments underway in grid expansion, electrification and renewable integration across the globe, we believe this milestone creates a strong foundation for scaling our international business and further diversifying our revenue mix,” he said in the release.

The development matters for SSEL’s international plans because the company has linked the U.S. shipment to export growth from Naini, approval efforts in Europe, and a wider push to diversify its revenue mix.
