Iran’s Pezeshkian accuses Trump of ‘bullying mentality’, vows no

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian told the United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday that Iran would not surrender in the war with the US, while saying Tehran remained open to diplomacy to end the conflict.

Warning that threats would harden Iran’s stance

In a wartime address to the 193-member UN General Assembly, Pezeshkian accused US President Donald Trump of a “bullying mentality” and said threats would only harden Iran’s resolve.

He rejected Trump’s warning that he could annihilate Iran if no deal were reached, framing the remarks as pressure that Iran would not accept.

“The remarks made by the US president yesterday … are a sign of a bullying mentality … The Iranian people will not bow to pressure … Those who are terrorists and train terrorists call us terrorists,” Pezeshkian said.

Tehran says it remains open to diplomacy

Pezeshkian’s comments paired defiance with an assertion that Iran remained open to diplomacy to end the conflict.

His reference to “terrorists” was directed at Trump’s description of Iran as the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.

The address placed Iran’s position before the UN General Assembly as Pezeshkian argued that threats would not force Tehran to yield.
