Infosys Ltd reported a 12.2% year-on-year rise in net profit for the quarter ended June 2026, reaching ₹7,769 crore, up from ₹6,921 crore in the same period last year. However, the IT giant saw an 8.6% sequential decline in profit compared to the March quarter. Alongside its earnings, the company announced Ashiss Kumar Dash as the CEO Designate, set to take over from Salil Parekh on April 1, 2027.

Revenue Growth Led by Life Sciences and Financial Services

The company's revenue for the June quarter rose 14% year-on-year to ₹48,211 crore, driven by strong performance in the life sciences and financial services sectors. Geographically, the US and Europe contributed to this growth, with constant-currency increases of 3.2% and 2.8%, respectively. Despite these gains, Infosys revised its FY27 revenue growth guidance to a narrower range of 1.5-3%, citing global economic uncertainty and reduced discretionary spending.

Dash to Lead Infosys into AI-Driven Transformation

Ashiss Kumar Dash, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus and a 30-year Infosys veteran, will step up as Managing Director and CEO following the end of Parekh’s term. Currently overseeing a diverse portfolio of industry verticals, Dash has held key leadership roles in customer-facing operations, delivery, and global functions across geographies. He also leads Infosys’ sustainability initiatives.

The Infosys board highlighted Dash’s strategic and commercial expertise, along with his deep understanding of technology delivery, as critical assets for steering the company through its next phase of AI-led transformation. “He has consistently delivered strong business performance, helped clients navigate complex transformations, and built high-performing global teams,” the company said.

AI Momentum Gains Traction

Outgoing CEO Salil Parekh emphasized Infosys’ growing strength in enterprise AI, noting that its AI offerings, including Infosys Topaz, are translating into revenue and market share gains. Parekh credited strategic partnerships with leading AI firms for helping clients boost productivity and unlock growth opportunities. He also reiterated the company’s commitment to reskilling its workforce to maintain its leadership in AI-driven transformations.

Dash echoed this vision, stating, “Technology is entering a new era, with AI fundamentally reshaping how businesses operate and create value. Infosys begins this next phase from a position of enormous strength.”

Why It Matters

Infosys’ performance and leadership transition come at a critical juncture as the company positions itself to capitalize on the AI revolution. With a solid revenue base and a clear AI strategy, Infosys aims to maintain its competitive edge in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. Dash’s appointment signals continuity and a focus on leveraging AI to drive future growth.
