On Karwa Chauth, when many married women were observing a waterless fast and preparing for prayers for their husbands’ long lives, women patwaris in Gwalior continued carrying out their government duties. Despite hunger and thirst, they moved forward with the registry process under the Swamitva Yojana and played an important role in helping rural residents move closer to getting ownership rights over their residential land.

The women patwaris carried out their responsibilities with vermilion on their foreheads, mehndi on their hands and a strong sense of duty. Along with observing the festival and wishing for their husbands’ well-being, they remained engaged in official work connected with rural families waiting for documents related to their residential land and ownership rights.

For these rural families, the progress in the registry work brought hope and happiness. Under the Swamitva Yojana, the process of issuing ownership-related documents for residential land moved forward. This strengthened the path for villagers to secure rights over the land on which their homes stand.

The work showed that women patwaris could balance their faith and responsibilities while giving priority to public service. For families that had been waiting for documents related to their land, the work carried out on the festival was an effort to bring them closer to their rights.

Women patwaris from five tehsils of the district took part in the initiative. From Chinor tehsil, those involved were Aneetarani Parihar, Surbhi Gupta and Radha Sharma.

From Ghatigaon, Rekha Soni and Richa Sharma participated in the work. From Dabra, the participating women patwaris were Sadhna Pahadiya, Samar Sultan and Bharti Pathak.

Gayatri Mahobiya represented the Murar tehsil, while Archana Dubey took part from Bhitarwar tehsil. Together, the women patwaris helped advance the registry-related work under the Swamitva Yojana.

Their dedication to duty is being appreciated in rural areas. For these women patwaris, the work was not only a government responsibility. It was also an effort to help families who had been waiting for documents related to their land move closer to receiving their ownership rights.

Gwalior Collector Smt. Ruchika Chauhan praised the dedication shown by all the women patwaris. On the occasion of Karwa Chauth, she also congratulated them and extended her best wishes for their fast.

The initiative presented a picture of faith and duty coming together on Karwa Chauth. After the women patwaris complete their waterless fast with the sighting of the moon, they will also carry the satisfaction of having worked throughout the day to help rural residents move closer to securing their rights.
