Ghaziabad: DCP Trans Hindon Rijul conducted late-night surprise inspections at 10 police outposts in the zone, police said. The inspection covered a range of administrative and operational points at the outpost level.

According to the information shared by police, the DCP reviewed cleanliness and upkeep, the presence of police personnel on duty and the condition of station records. Complaint disposal and beat policing were also reviewed.

Review of monitoring and police equipment

Police said the inspection also covered records related to monitoring criminals, government-issued arms, wireless sets, CCTV cameras and official vehicles. Officers were directed to keep outpost-level arrangements in order and ensure timely action on complaints received from the public.

Police said such surprise inspections are intended to monitor policing at the ground level and improve the handling of public complaints. It did not provide a detailed outpost-by-outpost account of any deficiencies found during the inspection.

According to police, orderly records, active beat staff and functional resources at outpost level are important parts of routine policing. It said personnel were asked about these points during the inspection, and outpost staff were reminded to maintain public-facing facilities and records in working order.
