Fire Breaks Out in Noida High-Rise, Residents Evacuated

A major fire erupted on the 12th floor of a 28-storey residential building in Noida Sector-75 on Friday morning. The incident occurred in the IVY County Society, reportedly due to a short circuit in an air conditioner. Flames quickly spread, with thick black smoke visible from the building, leading to chaos as residents evacuated using staircases.

Fire brigade teams and police rushed to the scene to initiate rescue and firefighting operations. However, the fire engines faced difficulties as water could not reach the 12th floor. Hydraulic cranes were brought in, and the building's fire safety systems were utilized to combat the blaze. After nearly one and a half hours of effort, the fire was brought under control. As a precaution, the entire building and nearby structures were evacuated. No casualties have been reported so far.

In a separate incident, a fire broke out at a paying guest (PG) accommodation in Noida Sector-52. The blaze originated from a restaurant on the ground floor of the multi-storey building, which houses students and working professionals. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, preventing further damage.

Both incidents highlight challenges in firefighting operations in high-rise buildings. Authorities are investigating the causes and assessing safety measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
