Court Refuses Interim Protection To Former MLA Narendra Pawar

A Bhiwandi Sessions Court has kept former MLA Narendra Baburao Pawar’s anticipatory bail plea pending while refusing him interim protection in a rape case registered at Padgha police station.

Court seeks responses before relief

Additional Sessions Judge N.K. Karande declined interim protection on Wednesday (September 23, 2026), observing that the allegations against Mr. Pawar were serious.

The court said it was necessary to hear the investigating officer as well as the complainant before considering any interim relief.

It issued notices and sought responses on September 24.

The court has also sought responses from the investigating officer, the assistant public prosecutor and the complainant, and posted the matter for further hearing on September 24.

Mr. Pawar had approached the court seeking anticipatory bail after a complaint was registered against him and other accused at Padgha police station.

Case registered under BNS and Arms Act

The complaint has been registered under Sections 64(1), 70(1), 351(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The case also invokes Sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.

The prosecution alleged that the complainant, who was having a dispute with her husband, had approached Mr. Pawar for help in resolving the matter.

According to the prosecution, Mr. Pawar allegedly called her to Tilak Chowk in Kalyan.

From there, she was taken in a car driven by Shailesh Patil to a farmhouse, according to the case placed before the court.

Complaint details noted by court

The court noted that the complaint said Mr. Pawar and Mr. Patil raped the survivor.

The complaint further stated that she was later dropped near her residence.

After that, she informed acquaintances about the incident and an FIR was lodged, the court noted from the complaint.

The court’s refusal of interim protection is significant because the anticipatory bail application remains pending, and the judge has indicated that the investigating officer and the complainant must be heard before interim relief is considered.

The matter is now listed for further hearing on September 24.
