Cockroach Janta Party Ends Jantar Mantar Protest After Government Concedes Demands

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has called off its prolonged protest at Jantar Mantar after the Modi government agreed to meet all three of its key demands during a third round of talks held on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The announcement came during a joint press conference featuring Union Ministers Jitendra Singh and J.P. Nadda alongside CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka.

Resignation, FIR Withdrawals, and Compensation Secured

The first major breakthrough came with the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, a key demand of the CJP. “Just a while ago, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned. This means that our first demand has been accepted,” said Ranka.

The second demand, concerning the withdrawal of legal cases against protesters and organizers, has also been agreed upon. According to CJP member Saurav Das, the government assured that all FIRs filed across BJP-ruled and BJP-allied states would be withdrawn shortly. “As per our last information, 15 to 20 FIRs were filed in Delhi. The government has assured us that copies of these FIRs will be shared with us within three to four days,” Das added.

The third demand, ₹1 crore compensation for families who lost loved ones after the NEET paper was not conducted, has also been accepted, marking the complete fulfillment of the CJP’s agenda.

Written Guarantees Expected by Tuesday

To formalize the agreement, the CJP has submitted a draft to the government seeking written guarantees regarding the withdrawal of FIRs and assurances against future legal action. “The government has said it will share this with us by Tuesday,” Das stated.

Protesters Asked to Disperse

With all demands met, Ranka urged the protesters to end their demonstration and return home peacefully. “We request the protesters to withdraw immediately and return home. We will inform you of our future strategy or any other issues,” he said.

This resolution concludes a tense standoff that had gripped Jantar Mantar for several days, underscoring the power of organized protest in bringing about significant policy changes.
