The Devipath Mandal is witnessing a transformative push in education infrastructure under the Chief Minister Model Composite Schools initiative, with construction underway across all four districts of the division. Under the vision of "Shikshit Devipath, Viksit Devipath" (Educated Devipath, Developed Devipath), these state-of-the-art institutions are being established at an investment of approximately Rs 30 crore per school, aimed at providing world-class educational facilities under one roof.
The ambitious project is part of a larger statewide initiative that envisages setting up 150 such model schools across assembly constituencies with a total investment of Rs 4,500 crore. Each school is designed to accommodate 1,500 to 2,000 students from pre-primary to Class 12, offering smart classrooms, modern science and ICT laboratories at the senior secondary level, expansive auditoriums, professional sports facilities, residential hostels, transport services, and dining halls with a capacity for over 1,400 students. The integrated approach ensures students receive continuity of education in a single campus equipped with contemporary amenities.
Construction progress varies across the four districts of Devipath Mandal—Shravasti, Gonda, Balrampur, and Bahraich. In Bahraich's Tejwapur development block, the school building is nearly complete with finishing work currently in progress. Balrampur's facility in the Balrampur block has reached the roof construction stage, which is advancing rapidly. Similarly, roof construction is underway at the school in Hariharpur Rani block of Shravasti district. In Gonda's Jhanjhari block, construction has commenced following the completion of the foundation ceremony.
Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal emphasized that these composite schools would significantly reduce student dropout rates and improve retention by offering all modern facilities at a single location. The initiative, implemented under the guidance of the Chief Minister and spearheaded by Nagpal, reflects the Uttar Pradesh government's commitment to bringing qualitative transformation to education at the grassroots level, ensuring equitable access to quality schooling infrastructure across the division.
