BJP Slams Rahul Gandhi for Skipping Parliament Amid Event Controversy

Rahul Gandhi was slated to host the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' programme at KP Ground in Prayagraj on August 8. The event aimed to address student concerns, including alleged paper leaks. However, the venue's managing trust withdrew permission, citing waterlogging and an Allahabad High Court directive.

BJP’s Sharp Criticism

BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh accused Gandhi of avoiding Parliament debates, calling him "mentally bankrupt." Chugh stated, "While Parliament is in session, you are bypassing the country's highest democratic institution for petty politics. This shows that you have become mentally bankrupt." He alleged that Gandhi’s reluctance to debate in the Lok Sabha reflects the Congress party’s lack of substantive issues and logical arguments.

Chugh further claimed that the Congress is exploiting student protests for political gain, accusing the party of attempting to "hijack" demonstrations by arriving in buses. He also criticized Gandhi for allegedly ignoring the plight of students in Jharkhand, stating, "The Congress party's so-called intellectual leader does not have even a minute to listen to or understand their pain and suffering."
