Bahraich District Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Pandey launched paddy and maize procurement in the district under the price support scheme for Kharif Marketing Year 2026-27. The procurement work was started at the paddy purchase centre of the Food and Civil Supplies Department at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee premises in Salarpur.

Rajesh Kumar Pandey reached the market committee premises along with Chief Revenue Officer Saurabh Dubey and City Magistrate Rajesh Prasad. After performing the prescribed worship rituals and offering prayers at the weighing scale, the district magistrate formally inaugurated the paddy purchase centre.

The district magistrate arranged for the produce brought by farmers to be weighed in his presence. The produce of Kunwar Bahadur Pandey, a farmer from Kamoliya village, was recorded at 60 quintals. The produce of Hriday Ram Tiwari and Rajkumar was weighed at 40 quintals each.

The produce of Ram Dayal Shukla, a resident of Pakdi Kala village, was recorded at 70 quintals. The produce of Hemant Verma, a resident of Johra village, was weighed at 40 quintals.

Rajesh Kumar Pandey welcomed and felicitated the farmers who arrived at the purchase centre by putting flower garlands around their necks. He also spoke to the farmers and sought information about the problems they were facing and the facilities they needed at the centre.

The district magistrate directed officials to conduct the paddy procurement process in the district with complete transparency, impartiality and ease, in line with the government’s intention. He said that all necessary arrangements must be ensured at the purchase centres so that farmers do not face any difficulty while selling their produce.

He instructed the officials concerned and the centre in-charges to pay special attention to basic facilities for farmers, including seating arrangements and drinking water. He also directed that farmers should not be made to wait unnecessarily for the sale of their paddy.

The district magistrate further instructed officials to maintain all records related to procurement in accordance with the prescribed rules. He said that the convenience and interests of farmers were the top priority.

Rajesh Kumar Pandey directed that the rules and standards prescribed by the government for paddy procurement must be followed completely. He warned that action would be taken against those concerned if any negligence or irregularity was found during the procurement process.

The district magistrate also appealed to farmers to dry their paddy before bringing it to the purchase centre. He asked them to register for the sale of their produce on the government-prescribed portal, एफसीएस डाट यूपी डाट जीओवी डाट इन, so that the verification process could be completed by the tehsils on time.
